New Blog System

We are really pleased to announce that we have fundamentally changed our travel journal system by installing a WordPress blog structure on our website and copying all our journals into the new system.

Why make the changes? We have been finding it difficult to go back and find entries from earlier dates, as we currently have at least 168 journal entries with close to 480 pages, and our old system is not set up for quickly accessing the information. It’s only going to get bigger the longer we are on the road.

The big difference you’ll notice is that you can now search all our journals by country and state, and we now have an archive that allows you to find journals by month and year.

Chelsea copied every one of our 168 journal entries from the last two and half years into our new system, and she has changed the look of the system to appear like our regular website.

You’ll still find the Follow Our Adventure block on the left, with links to our maps, routes, and photo gallery. You won’t find the links across the top – you’ll have to go back to the main website to access those links, but you can easily get to the main site by clicking the link called “Home page” on the top left block. The links in the Follow Our Adventure block will also get you to the main site.

If you find any links that don’t work we’d really appreciate you writing us a quick note at travelingroses@gmail.com to let us know. Be sure to give us specific details. We’ve done our best to check everything out, but it’s a really big job, and we may have missed something.

We are delighted with the changes – we’ve wanted to do this for over a year, and it feels wonderful to finally have it in place. We hope you enjoy it, and we trust that it will make your reading easier.
