It’s amazing being home for a short bit after living in such another world for the last 10 days. We have been working 18 hour days getting caught up on blogs, uploading our photos and captioning them and getting them on the website, working on our consulting projects, doing laundry, re-thinking our clothing and equipment, finding the things we needed, and getting rid of things we didn’t need. We’ve also had to order some essential supplies and we’ll have them sent to a close friend’s house about a week up the road.
I’ve also been looking up possible places to stay on warmshowers.org. We have had a number of offers coming in through our website and trip email and we need to get a system set up to track them and find them when we need them! We also have emails we need to respond to – we still have some radio interviews coming up, and Chelsea has a number of questions she needs to answer for an interview in City Links for South Florida. We need to get photos together to submit for the websites for each interview, too. All of this seems to take an inordinate amount of time!
And finally, we still have a fair bit of packing to do for our clothing and furniture and so on that will be in storage for the next 3 years or more.
It’s already 1 a.m. and my bed is full of things that need attention, and the cat looks like she’s settled in for the whole summer. I’ll write more tomorrow night.
